Background
"Ever Feel Like That?"*
As David Byrne once asked, "Well, how did I get here?" Are we not chessmen/women? How many of us can say that we've made conscious decisions to be at any particular place, literally or figuratively, at any specific time? In what direction will we move and from where have we come? Given all the variable challenges and opportunities, how far can we see and what can we anticipate and how should we plan our next move? Or should we? Will someone else do this for us instead? Who will we face next and will they be friend or foe? Will we be taken out and if so, when? Where and how wide is the boundary between serenity and passivity, courage and impulsiveness, the line between conscious decision-making and futility?
